Smarty Pants

It is amazing to me to watch Sadie's little brain work and figure things out that she never could before. She is quite the smarty pants now. She figured out that if she brings a book, we have to pick her up and read to her (and she brings LOTS of books). If she hands us the book and we don't pick her up, she squawks. :) She's also figured out her ticket into our laps is Boo (her cuddle blanket). If she hands us Boo we have to snuggle.

She has become quite good at sharing. She hands stuff to us all the time, which cracks us up. Josh takes her to Home Depot whenever he has to run errands there, and she went from just pulling things off the shelves to taking stuff off the shelves and handing them to Daddy. She's really quite helpful. She's also very willing to share the food she doesn't want to eat with Mamma. Last night she had sweet potatoes and chicken on her plate and she didn't want to eat anymore so I gave her some of the veggies from my plate (she thinks whatever we're eating is so much more exciting than her food). However, she didn't want my veggies either so I took them back off her tray and ate them. She proceeded to pick up a sweet potatoe chunk and hand it to me to as if to say "here, have some of these too". She cracks us up every day.

She continues to do her "grumpy face" on command and I finally caught it on camera the other day.

She's also getting really good at maneuvering around things and learning to sit down before dismounting from the hearth or ducking under low things. The other day she was crawling around in her onesie and must have decided the tile floor was a little too cold or hard for her little knees so she started doing the monkey crawl. This is the first time she's ever done it.

We're a week away from the big #1. I can't believe how this year has flown. It makes me sad to think I have to start transitioning her from baby to little girl in my mind. I wish she could stay my baby forever. She's just so sweet! Well anyway, Mimi and Bumpa got her a swing for her birthday this year and Daddy got it mounted today. Boy did she think that was a fun new trick! It's been so nice outside the past couple of days that we've spent most of it outdoors. Now she has another exciting activity to do when we go out.
