Happy Birthday Sadie!

Sadie turned the big 1 year old yesterday. She didn't think it was all too special of a day until the guests showed up for cake and ice cream. She loves having company over so she thought that was great! We had her two sets of surrogate grandparents over for cake and ice cream. Just a small affair since she won't remember this day anyway. One of the couples was our neighbors who've adopted her as their own granddaughter and the other was a gal Josh works with who's been involved ever since Sadie was born. It was fun. We just wished our families could have been a part of the festivities too.

Here's a picture of her birthday cake I made her and the decorations for her party. I was really pleased with how well the cake and everything else turned out.

Here's the birthday girl "reading" her birthday cards with her party hat on. She didn't care too much for that hat and it was all I could do to keep it on her head long enough to get a picture.
Here's her happy birthday song and blowing her candle out. She loved the frosting and didn't eat much of the cake because of it. However, once she got a taste of the ice cream, the frosting wasn't so wonderful after all and she insisted on ice cream instead. :)

Here's the end result of her cake eating.
She loved opening her presents and especially enjoyed the green frog that sang to her

as well as the bubbles. She thought it was fun when they landed on her face.

Here are a few other shots of her opening presents.

I just can't believe how quickly this year has gone by. She's growing into such an adorable little girl, but it saddens me some that my baby is no longer a baby.
