Fun Day!

We had the last of our gorgeous weather here today. We've been in the 60's and 70's the last several days and Sadie and I have gotten outside as much as possible to enjoy them. Today was sunny and almost 80 degrees and whenever Sadie wasn't sleeping or eating, we were outside. Josh has been working on rewiring the shop the past couple of days and Sadie found that project to be especially exciting. She got her little scoop shovel and tried to help dig. Here's a little clip of her "helping".

She had no fear of the trenches and almost stepped in them several times in her attempt to dig dirt out of them with her shovel. What you heard but didn't see in the video was her tipping over backwards into the trench cuz she got too close. She got a really surprised look on her face, but wasn't scared or hurt. Just got lots of dirt on herself. When Josh filled in the holes tonight he was stomping the dirt back down and Sadie was watching. As soon as he quit stomping she went right over there and stomped away at the dirt just like she'd seen Daddy do. We laughed so hard. She's so smart.

Shelby is slowly but surely coming to terms with being ok with Sadie. She didn't care for the attention too much at first and would snip at her. The last few days she's done so well with Sadie I just can't believe it. Sadie went over to her several times today and petted her and played with her ears and Shelby didn't make a peep. She growled at her a little when Sadie decided to poke her eyes, but I can't blame her for that. Here is one of their favorite games to play together. Sadie thinks it's hilarious. This is Shelby's blanket that she lays on and plays with.

It only took Sadie a couple of days to figure out what the word "swing" means. Now she points to her swing when she wants to go for a ride. She thinks it's a great toy! She also thinks doggy poop is a great toy too. I had to rescue her from putting a chunk in her mouth today. Yuck!!!! Small rocks are also appealing. Too bad they're a choking hazard. That lesson has been a little harder for her to learn.

Well, back to icky 40 degree weather tomorrow. We sure enjoyed it while it lasted.
