Life At Fort Belvoir

We've now had a week of life at Ft Belvoir. It's good to be together as a family again. We're on a very beautiful base and with all the fall colors it's even more beautiful. They have some really great walking trails through the woods here and the last few days we've taken advantage of the beautiful weather to walk through some of them. Sadie spotted her first deer during one of our first walks in the woods.

She quickly graduated from Daddy's shoulders to a fancy backpack and LOVES IT!
She found the crunchy leaves fascinating.
And she was thrilled to death when she got a walking stick like Daddy's to hold. She promptly tasted it, poked and prodded at it awhile, and then proceeded to wave it in the air wacking Josh on the head, ears and face. Needless to say, she didn't get to keep it too long. :)

We saw all kinds of fun things on the trail, beautiful colors...

Big leaves...

And very cool paths.
Sadie is changing so much now. She is as busy as she can be without actually crawling yet. She gets on all fours and plops herself forward, rolls like crazy and gets around like we can't believe! She seems to get a second wind right when it's time to go to bed and acts like a crazy ADD baby.

She's had all kinds of fun adventures here including getting baths in the sink because the room we're in doesn't have a bathtub,

And helping Daddy work on the truck.
She gets so excited to go outside now and is her happiest when she's out there. She absolutely loves playing peek-a-boo and getting "scared". She laughs so hard. Her newest thing she started doing today was copying me when I made a screaming noise. We were out walking and I made a screaming noise at her, she laughed and then repeated it. We went back and forth for awhile and she thought it was hilarious. Of course we did too as it's the first time she's actually repeated on purpose something we've done or said.

We're certainly looking forward to getting home again, but we're trying to make the best of things while we're here. We're so thankful we can get away in the woods every once in awhile and forget we're stuck inside a big city. :)

Oh man...I can't believe how big she is getting...and she has so much more hair since she was here. Her "talking" is absolutely adorable...I can still remember when Hudson did that...I loved it. Where in the world did you get that cool backpack? And that camo hat...so cute! Looking forward to seeing you all soon. We miss that little Sadie girl!
