Sadie is growing and changing so fast now. She turned 11 months old on the 12th and boy is she on the go. She's learned so many new things the past couple of weeks, it's unbelievable. Last week she learned to clap her hands for the first time. We were watching Walk The Line and Johnny Cash was singing one of his songs, all of a sudden she just started clapping and bouncing to the music. So cute. Here's a little video of her doing it.
As you can see from that video, she has also gotten quite proficient at walking. On our way to MN she was still having to crawl to something to pull herself up and launch her walking. The day we got there she started pushing herself up from the floor and now she rarely crawls. Here she is when we got home. She's very steady on her feet now.
She's becoming quite the little entertainer. She makes her silly grumpy face now when we ask her to (well most of the time anyway) and she loves to laugh and play. She gets especially goofy when she's eating lunch. The other day she would make noises at me so I'd look at her and then she'd laugh. I was making a silly sound one day and she thought it was hilarious. Here she is laughing at "boo".
She's beginning to pick up on what certain words mean and loves to read books. She can sit and read a whole pile of books and be perfectly happy. She also likes looking at them and playing with them herself. It's so cute!
Sadie's first Valentine's Day was very exciting. Well some of it anyway. We traveled home from MN that day so she wasn't real thrilled with the car ride, but she got a balloon from Mimi before we left and she has played with that thing like nothing else. It was great entertainment for her in the car and since we've been home, she drags that thing all over the place and loves playing with it.
We stopped at some outlet malls on our way home and Sadie decided she loves to shop. She buzzed around those stores so fast, Daddy had a hard time keeping up. She would crawl under racks and feel all the clothes. Her favorite thing to do was grab at the tags hanging from the clothes and take off. It took 3 pretty swift spills on her butt for her to realize that the tags were attached to the clothes and the clothes were stuck on the racks and weren't going anywhere. Daddy got a pretty good laugh out of watching that unfold!
It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since her birth. Where does the time go? We have certainly enjoyed every stage of babyhood and we're so thankful for our little blessing!
